Rupin Pass is a high altitude trek which starts from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ends at Sangla. Majorly you will do Trekking in Himachal as 80% of the trek route is there itself.
Being a high altitude trek, of about 15250 feet, Rupin Pass is considered among one of the high range expeditions for Trekking in India. The high altitude in not just sole reason for its popularity among trekkers, the diversified number of sceneries and sudden variation in trails also attracts many nature lovers.
You will get surprised at every hour by the number of variety which mother nature has to offer you in Rupin Pass Trek. The trails at times are very difficult with its steep climbs which suddenly changes to an easy walks.
Rupin Pass is an ideal trek for any adventure as it offers trek to every type of terrain, be it on snow, rocky terrain, along and through the water streams or meadows. You will start trekking your route from greener and hot landscapes and move towards and through the coldest of areas over the snow as you reach to the end.
Surprises on the trek
Waterfalls views: You will encounter many waterfalls and stream though the trek. The best of the sights you will face at Rupin Valley which is of thousands of waterfalls flowing down through such a height that it appears as they are falling straight from the sky.
Jhaka Village, A Hanging Village: it is a unique positioned village at the utmost edge of the mountain making it appear to hanging through the cliff.
Snow Bridges: The feeling of walking on the snow bridges you come across is another enhancement to the variety of the treks. You will come across numerous snow bridges on the trek.
Lush Forests: The trek at various places also passes through the forests of fir, Rhododendron & Oak. The entrance and exit to the forests are again so sudden that you will feel that it is a movie setup around you.
Kinnaur Temple: It is a two storey temple of Kinnauri culture at Sewa which is very different from its surrounding.
Views of Kinner Kailash: You will get mesmerized by the views of lofty Kailash Peak while you reach towards the end of Rupin Pass trek.

How to Reach
By Air :-
Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun
By Train :-
Take the overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi
- Nandadevi Express – Train no: 12205 (Departure 11:50pm; Arrival – 5:40am)
- Dehradun Express – Train no: 12687 (Departure – 9:10pm; Arrival – 5:00am)
By Bus:-
There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhis ISBT Kashmere Gate.
We would suggest you to take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses ply from outside ISBT and they are not trust worthiness.
Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station
- Our Tata Sumo or similar vehicles will pick-up you from Dehradun Railway Station at 6:00am.
- Pick-up is included in the cost of the trek
- You will reach Dhaula by 5:00 pm
- Food from dehradun to Dhaula is not included in the trek cost
Note :
- Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
- In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by us.
- We holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.
- Normally WE expect to carry your personal luggage on your own, if you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to Mule/porter.
Charges of offloading backpack:-
- INR 3500/- if you make an online payment, 10 days in advance
- INR 3800/- if you inform us after reaching Dhaula
- The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kgs. Backpack should have waterproof cover.
- Suitcases/strolleys/ bags will not be allowed.
In case of emergency: Safety of our trekkers is of prime importance to us. Our Trek Leaders are well trained to tackle medical emergencies, especially arising due to altitude. In more intense situations, the trekker will be shifted on a stretcher to the nearest medical centre at the earliest. The expenses at the medical centre, if any, are to be borne by the participant. To book a Trek/ adventure program please use our online booking form or, alternatively, you can call us on the given for confirmation of tour you have to wire a deposit and initial deposit.
Paying the Trek/ Adventure activity fee: The fee can be paid by online transfer/check deposit/ demand draft. Instruction for payment will be forwarded along with your confirmation email. When your transfer is done, please e-mail us a confirmation mail with your transfer details, so that we can follow up your reservation efficiently.
When to book: It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. However, if you want a good deal on your domestic/international flight, we recommend organising your trip at least five months in advance. (Please contact us if you require a late booking).
In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: –
1,Dehradun to Dhaula

2,Dhaula to Sewa

3,Sewa to Bawta
Altitude 6,888 ft 6 km trek, 4 hrs Moderate level of walk for first 3 hrs and steep ascent for rest 1 hr Wooden bridge on the way, which is the border of Uttarakhand and Himanchal Pradesh Water points are available till Raj Gad After Raj Gad trail is steep ascent till Bawta Most of the trek is in the deep dark forest Hot lunch at camp site Stay in home stay
4,Bawta to Jakha

5,Jakha to Dandreyash Thatch

7,Upper Waterfall to Rupin Pass to Ronti gad
Altitude 13,420 ft 9 km Trek, 10 hrs Difficult Level of ascent. Longest and most exciting day of the trek Steep ascent till the pass and then steep descend 200 mtrs of very steep ascent known as Rupin Gully, just before the pass, give pass to porters and guides, let them go ahead Leave camp site by 4:30 am Carry enough hot water from the camp site, Water sources are limited Packed lunch will be given Reached Ronti gad late in the evening
8,Ronti gad to Sangla
Altitude 8,800 ft 12 km trek, 8 hrs Moderate level of descent, continuously descent till Sangla Many water taps on the way Reach Sangla 1-2 pm Cab leaves from Sangla at 3 pm and reached Shimla by 1 am (please make your hotel booking at Shimla accordingly)
